Blogs are govern by a common topic with list of posts (or entries). Blogs are normally maintained by one person or as small group of people. The core of blogs can be divided into a series of categories: Personal, Corporate, Q&A, Mixed Media, and Subject Specific.
- Personal Blogs
- The personal blog is a dear diary or commentary by an individual, and is the most common blog. Personal bloggers usually take pride in their blog posts, even if their blog is never read by anyone but them. Few personal blogs rise to fame and the mainstream, but some personal blogs quickly garner an extensive following. Blogs that do normal center around a person who already have a large following pre-blog (i.e. News Casters, Film Stars, Tech Connected).
- Corporate Blogs
- A blog can be for business purposes to keep their users up to date with company affairs. Corporate blogs tend to be a calender or a what’s new section.
- Q&A Blogging
- Questions posted separately then later answer on the blog. Q&A blogs can be used to display shownotes from podcasts or the means of conveying information through the internet. Used commonly as an add on for internet TV shows.
- Mixed Media
- A blog comprising videos, links, portfolio, photos are all types of mixed media. These are used by Photographers, Teacher, as a Resource logger, etc.
- By Genre
- Some blogs focus on a particular subject, such as political, travel, house, fashion, project, education, niche, music, quizzing and legal. Genre basic blogging is the second most common type and the overall category of this website (educational).
